Inaugural Voice for the Horse Gathering — May 31, 2013

The Beginning — Voice for the Horse Inaugural Event

The inaugural Voice for the Horse gathering was held on May 31, 2013, bringing together speakers, community members, and advocates who shared a common interest in strengthening awareness of the horse–human bond. Remarkably, the entire event came together in just thirty days, beginning with the support of one close friend who believed in the vision.

As word spread, others stepped forward to contribute their time, voices, and encouragement, helping transform the idea into a meaningful community gathering. Looking back, it remains a moment filled with gratitude and amazement — a reminder of how quickly something special can take shape when people come together around a shared purpose.

His remarks acknowledged the value of initiatives that engage young people and bring positive attention to the role horses continue to play in local culture and education.

Cynthia Royal — Speaker

Renowned horse trainer Cynthia Royal, known for her work with Shadowfax in The Lord of the Rings, shared reflections on the philosophy behind her approach to working with horses. She spoke about building relationships based on trust, guidance, and respect rather than force — encouraging horses to express their natural abilities and strengths.
